Privacy Policy

On The Healing Journey is a small business run by Autumn Dillon. This policy explains what happens to your information when you visit onthehealingjourney.com, join the email list, place an order, or send a message. It is written in plain language on purpose.

What we collect

Information you give us

• Your name and email address when you join the email list or download a free ebook.
• Your name, email address, and message when you use the contact form or the speaking inquiry form.
• Your shipping address, billing details, and order history when you buy a book. Payment is processed by Shopify. We never see or store your full card number.

Information collected automatically

• Basic analytics through Google Analytics 4: pages visited, approximate location by city or region, device type, and how you found the site. This is aggregate data and is not used to identify you personally.
• Advertising measurement through Google Ads, which tells us whether an ad led to a visit or a purchase.
• Standard server logs kept by our host, Netlify.

Why we collect it

• To send you the free ebooks and the emails you asked for.
• To fulfill and ship your order and answer questions about it.
• To reply to messages and speaking inquiries.
• To understand which pages are useful so the site can get better.
• To meet tax and record-keeping requirements.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your information. We do not rent it, trade it, or hand it to anyone for their own marketing. We share only what is necessary with the services that make this business run:

• Shopify, which processes payments and orders.
• Brevo, which sends the email newsletter.
• Netlify, which hosts the site and receives form submissions.
• Google, for analytics and advertising measurement.
• Microsoft 365, which handles our email.
• Shipping carriers, so your book can reach you.

Each of these companies has its own privacy policy governing how it handles data.

Cookies and tracking

This site uses cookies set by Google Analytics and Google Ads. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Most browsers also offer a Do Not Track setting, and you can opt out of Google Analytics entirely using the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. Blocking cookies will not stop you from reading, shopping, or downloading anything here.

Email

Joining the list is always your choice. Every email includes an unsubscribe link at the bottom, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately. If the link ever fails, write to info@onthehealingjourney.com and you will be removed by hand.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you may ask us to:

• Tell you what information we hold about you.
• Correct anything that is wrong.
• Delete your information, subject to any records we are legally required to keep for orders and taxes.
• Stop sending you email.

Send any of these requests to info@onthehealingjourney.com. You will get a response within thirty days. If you are in California, the CCPA gives you these rights explicitly, and we will not treat you differently for using them. If you are in the EU or UK, the GDPR gives you these rights, and our legal basis for processing is your consent for email, and legitimate interest or contract for orders and site operation.

Children

This site is written for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under thirteen. Our children's book, Bella's Big Heart, is written for children but purchased by grown-ups. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

The site runs over HTTPS. Payment information is handled entirely by Shopify and never touches our servers. No system is perfect, and we will notify affected customers promptly if we ever learn of a breach involving personal information.

Changes

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, the date at the top will change and, where the change is significant, we will say so in an email.
